Project Objectives Quantifiable Deliverables
Isolation and screening of keratinase producing microorganisms. A germpool of keratinase producing microbes will be generated.
Purification and characterization of keratinase. Potential isolates will be identified, characterized and preserved.
To evaluate the potential of keratinases for the bioconversion of keratinous wastes into value added products. Enzyme will be optimized for its reuse and to reduce its cost and space.
Identification and characterization of potential isolates. Feathers waste will be converted into value added products like animal feed supplements and fertilizers which will help the farmers to improve their livelihood.
