Project Objectives Quantifiable Deliverables
Survey, collection and identification of ectomycorrhizal symbionts of Pinus gerardiana across different altitudinal zones. Identify and characterize the mycorrhizal associates of P. gerardiana and the performance of dominant mycorrhizal fungal species .
Pure culture isolation, multiplication and application of dominant ectomycorrhizal fungus with P. gerardiana seedlings. Nursery establishment in collaboration with state forest department, to help their staff to understand the process in a better way.
Evaluation field performance artificially inoculated Pinus gerardiana seedlings in natural as well in out of provenance zone. Capacity building of line department staff.
