Title: Supplementary livelihood options through utilization of wild apricot fruit pulp and oil and conservation of Apricot through mass propagation at and around Uttarkashi.

Project Objectives Quantifiable Deliverables
Organization of village population of identified villages of Uttarkashi district in groups for capacity building in utilization of wild tree based oil for self employment development. Commercialization of fruit pulp of Prunus armeniaca Linn.
Technology modification according to need of the village population. Application of new technology for deshelling stones of Prunus armeniaca for oil extraction.
Trials of various technologies for removal of HCN from seeds for making it’s oil for food purposes. Technology transfer for fruit processing for marketable value added health products, such as jam, jelly, syrup, squash, development of products from kernel oil for income generation.
Training for technology transfer to villager’s groups for utilization of pulp and oil for marketable products development.
Development of nurseries of Wild Apricot involving village population and mass plantation for future resource generation.
Small entrepreneurship development for income and employment generation.
