Project Objectives Quantifiable Deliverables
Identification and selection of commercially important species of orchids and other ornamental plants from Darjeeling hills, W.B. Data on potential orchid species and their distribution
Selection of interested growerers of orchids and other floriculture plants and holding a meeting with state government and bank officials to discuss possible financial assistance and other logistics. Establishment of Orchidariums
Identifying alternative livelihood options for those who are found to ransack wild and natural resources to have their ends. Training and capacity building on cultivation of orchids
Establishing Orchidariums at different locations for the purpose of demonstration.
Standardizing protocols necessary for large scale production of orchids and other species.
