Nodal and Serving hub with G.B. Pant "National Institute of Himalayan Environment"(NIHE)

Credentials of the Project: IERP/NMHS/22

Project ID: IERP/NMHS/22
Title: Plant traits, soil microbial properties and ecosystem services in agroforestry systems in Garhwal Himalaya.
Batch/ Financial Year: 2015-16
Total Grant: Rs. 19,68,560 (Nineteen lakh sixty eight thousand five hundred sixty only)

Project Objectives Quantifiable Deliverables
To study altitudinal differences in biomass carbon sequestration potential in different agroforestry systems . Role of traditional agroforestry systems in maintaining ecosystem services.
To determine spatial and temporal variations in soil nutrient enrichment processes in different agroforestry systems. Data base on microbial diversity and microbial activity and biomass dynamics in traditional agroforestry systems.
To document the dependence level of farmers on agroforestry systems for food, fuel, fodder, etc..
