Conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity: Survey and identification of selected lesser known aromatic plants viz. Lantana (Lantana camara), Surai (Cupressus torulosa), Gania grass (Cymbopogon distans), Kalabansa (Eupatorium adenophorum) and Artemisia (Artemisia vulgaris)

• New essential oils will be introduced to industry and trade from Himalayan region.

• Opportunities for supplementary income to local inhabitants and entrepreneurs by converting these waste lesser known aromatic plants/ obnoxious weeds into ´Aroma Wealth´.

• Survey, resource mapping and collection of plants - Extensive fieldsurvey of Garhwal region of Uttarakhand (Districts Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pauri)
HRA002 Dehradun and Udhamsinghnagar Extent of impact of capacity building programme: Development of appropriate field extraction techniques for the minor essential oils

• Setting up of new micro enterprises in mountains of Uttarakhand.

• Marketing linkages of these minor essential oils would be established.

•Designing and conducting of experiment for developing cost effective and sustainable harvesting methods
