The 28^th Meeting of the Scientific and Technical Advisory Group (STAG) of the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS) was held on 2 July 2026 at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Nameeta Prasad, Joint Secretary, MoEF&CC, in the presence of eminent STAG members, subject experts, and NMHS officials. At the outset, Er. M. S. Lodhi, Scientist 'F', & Nodal Officer, NMHS, welcomed the Chair and STAG members and expressed his gratitude for their continued guidance, support, and valuable contributions to the progress of the Mission. He also briefed the STAG on the recent progress, key activities, and major initiatives undertaken by the NMHS The meeting focused on the consideration of revised demand-driven action research projects under NMHS 2025-26, recommendations on Final Technical Reports (FTRs) and other strategic items aimed at strengthening research, innovation, and sustainable development across the Indian Himalayan Region.
