Dr. Krushna Chandra Gouda
Principal Scientist and AcSIR Coordinator CSIR Fourth Paradigm Institute (C-MMACS) Wind Tunnel Road Bangalore-37, India

Project Brief Description: A reliable forecast platform for these events will enable pro-active mitigation, with both societal and strategic and economic benefits. The project will develop an integrated disaster forecasting platform (complete functional proto-type) for the Beas basin in the pilot phase, will fill the above requirements; it can be enhanced in scope and replicated over other locations. As the capacity building to the academics and state agencies is another important target so it will add the intellectual and operational capacity among the local population for the advance warning system (AWS) of high Impact weather events over the Himachal region.
Beneficiaries/ Stakeholders:

The key beneficiaries will be the People of Himalyan states like Himachal Pradesh in India, Farmers, Foresters, Water managers, health workers, Disaster managers, Teachers, Climate/biodiversity/environment Researchers, State environment and forest department officials, Tribal community, NGOs, environmentally sustainable professional. etc.
