Project Brief Description: The Himalayas are a dominating landscape feature of the Indian subcontinent. They regulate climate, supply vital water and add significantly to the biodiversity of the country. They are also the home of some 15000 village communities in Uttarakhand alone. Improving the life quality of village community in Uttarakhand, the project addresses the BTAs- �Skill Development and Capacity Building� under the National Mission on Himalayan Studies (NMHS). For that, project will provide training and capability-building programme in approx 60 villages community on different livelihood options like horticulture, vegetable growing, cultivation of herbs, fisheries, vermi-composting, conserving and distributing local seeds and marketing of the product. Targeting the women, project will be benefited to approximately 8000 household (35000 people) hold by different income generating activities.
