| Project Brief Description: | This project will contribute significantly role in Indias pledges for Non-fossil Fuel-based Energy. The residues available for recycling are the wastes from diverse sources. Among this cellulosic biomass i.e. pine needle is the main chunk of waste in entire Himalayan belt lying unutilized resulting in deterioration of environment and loss of potentially valuable resources. Thus a constant need is long felt for their eco-friendly disposal. Biodegradation and Bioconversion of this waste will not only solve the serious pollution problem but at the same time it could be utilized to meet the major challenges of the modern world and particularly of our country i.e. fuel depletion. Bioconversion of cellulose and hemicelluloses in plant biomass waste will provide the commercially high value compounds of high utility i.e. ethanol which can be used as power alcohol by blending petroleum with it to meet out the major target as set by Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, India. | |||||
