Project Brief Description: Transport Planning is often associated with understanding the need for travel and thereby assessing the supply requirement for the same. More often, the planning policies are skewed towards the major commuting patterns. In small and medium sized cities of India, the para-transit services invariably play a major role for commuting passengers. Hence it is essential to quantify the spatial gap between the need and the supply. The project aims to establish if the travel needs of the generated demand are met and in case of deficiencies in IPT, the study shall bring out the route modification of IPT services. The study will also look into the IPT penetration within the city of Imphal.
Beneficiaries/ Stakeholders:

Beneficiaries include the different stakeholders involved in the decision-making, namely, the commuters, the Directorate of Transport, Manipur and the IPT operators and other associated stakeholders like PWD of Manipur, Border Roads Organisation and R&D agencies.
