Project Brief Description: | The goal of the project is livelihood opportunities creation through integrated livelihood enterprises with women through self-help groups in 5villages in one cluster of village the remote Kumaun Himalayas. The specific objectives of the project focus on increasing income of the family and empowering socio-economically week women. The project is directly focused on 5 villages and work with women farmer groups and rural communities. Traditionally, the village communities in proposed sites are involved in agriculture and animal husbandry for their sustenance. But neither was it felt necessary nor it was tried to develop crop and animal husbandry as an enterprise. This resulted in lack of interest among the youngsters towards the agriculture and dairy. Due to the sustenance farming and lack of livelihood avenues the living standard of the villagers' is low and most of the families are void of utilize modern physical facilities. Low income status of family reflects in poor health and education of the children which is a bottleneck of physical and mental development. To focus on these problems and getting solutions, it is felt necessary to revive the skill and traditional knowledge of animal husbandry in order to utilize these resources for founding the strong base to improve livelihood and self-employment options in the villages so that the village community get involved in this enterprises in their neighbourhood and become able economically. Proposed project is focussed on to develop 50 dairy enterprises in integrated way in 5 villages.
